Trugon Ranch is a member of the Whitewright Chamber of Commerce. Our mission statement is simple. Treat your horse with respect and integrity and he will do the same for you.  If you are wanting to learn how to do your own horse training or basic colt starting, David would like to invite you to come out and have fun learning how to begin your own horse training and colt starting education! We know that most horse trainers are not interested in teaching owners how to do their own horse training, but here at Trugon Ranch, we feel that it is very important for the owner to be involved with as many horse training sessions as they desire to attend.

When David started training horses in south Texas, It was under the old way of "buck em out till they mind". After watching the other hands working with the same method, David began to think "there has to be a better way to accomplish this both for horse and rider".

Throughout a series of events, he came across a dvd and found what he was looking for, horse training using Love,Language and Leadership in equal doses. Since David has employed these natural horsemanship principles each and every horse that has went through his training program has turned out ten times better than the old forceful colt starting way. Our goal is to educate and bring both horse and rider together and to increase the potential for a much more positive relationship for both horse and rider.

David Mitchell is located 20 miles northeast of Mckinney Texas in the small town of Whitewright. You're welcome to stop by for a cup of coffee and talk anytime. We hope to see you soon!

 What is Saddlebound Kids?
Having Fun,Learning & Serving our Community!!
Saddlebound Kids is a Grayson County 4H club. Although there are many
projects available in 4H, our club primarily focuses on horses.
You don’t have to own a horse to be in Saddlebound Kids. In order to ride or
work with a horse in 4H, be it yours or borrowed, you must be at least 9 years old
and in the third grade. This is a 4H policy and applies to any major livestock
project. There are activities available for younger children, and an entire
program dedicated to them called Clover Kids.
Not all Saddlebound Kids are doing the same things with their horses. We have
members that are interested in Showing, Trail Riding, Parades, Rodeos, Clinics,
Science and many other areas. We try to have various programs and events that
address all our different interests instead of focusing on just one area.
